Action Plan: What are we going to do?
Vandalism taking place on school property is an issue in our community. Our plan is to raise money to host fundraisers to clean up the vandalism and to install security problems in these targeted areas. Vandalism may consist of graffiti on walls, breaking windows, writing on bathroom stalls, spray painting, and other many forms of vandalism. In order to hold these fundraising events there would have to be people and/or groups supporting this idea.
Now these groups that would be backing up this idea would possibly be the staff of our school. We believe that this large group of faculty and staff would stand behind this idea because vandalism does affect the school in a major way. To gain their support, we would present to them past vandalisms that have occurred at our school and around our area. Also, show them what these fundraisers would be composed of, like a scrimmage. Not to mention, if this idea does succeed in this school we can spread it to other schools in our surrounding area. To move on, opponents to this idea we do not believe would be plentiful. The only real possible group that may oppose our idea is a few local teenagers and vandals. They would only oppose though for the obvious reason that they are the people participating in vandalizing our school property and would prefer not to be caught by new security cameras, and would prefer that what they are doing to the school not be fixed or cleaned up. It would be pretty difficult to convince this group of individuals to support this motion, but if proper actions are taken it can be accomplished. The only way we can convince them is to show them what the vandalism does to the school and how much money it costs to paint over something as simple as pen on a bathroom stall. Even if they choose to not support it, they do not have the biggest group of people who feel that strongly about it so it almost would not affect the idea from going through the process.
Moving on, groups in our schools are not the only people who can help. In order to really spread this idea of putting vandalism in our school to a stop we may need a helping hand from the board of education or the schools state department of education. These to groups are somewhat a higher power than our schools. They would be able to enforce this idea into other schools around the United States without that huge of a problem. Now, first they would have to actually stand behind our motion, we can earn their support by presenting to them multiple vandalism examples that have occurred in schools, very similar to our presentation to just our local schools. This time though, we would present to them a chart of all the costs that it costs to fix these ongoing various crimes. To add on to this, we could get several opinions from our New Jersey principles on vandalism in our school and how it is affecting the schools budget and the kid’s education. Something as simple as painting over the bathroom stalls over and over again due to pen writing on it. Then, hopefully they will lend a helping hand to fix this issue and make it less likely to happen on all school properties.
In conclusion, vandalism is making our schools look less nice and clean every day, this is due to all the vandals out there who don’t have any respect for our schools and think it is okay to take money out of the school’s pocket. We want not only our school but also all schools to have a clean property for children to come to school too.
